Invalid API key specified

This is a quick update to let everyone know what was happening with this particular error (I know. There are many bugs in the plugin. I hope to be able to use the ‘new’ Facebook Graph API and release the plugin as open source this summer.)

For reasons that were never explained to me, Facebook disabled this plugin. An unknown side-effect (to me, at least) was that this also disables all photos associated with the plugin. This is very troubling to me. All old photos should be reactivated now.

I will hopefully begin updating the plugin soon.

  • That was the result my brother was experiencing too. Not only could he not export, but the albums that had been exported with the plugin were not visible either. Thanks for your work
    !

  • Thanks for the update and your work on this plugin.

Hard to imagine that they disable all photos associated with the plugin, but that explains a lot. Many of my albums disappeared over the weekend but re-appeared monday morning. There is still some weirdness though, I have noticed them disappearing for short periods and then coming back all week.

    • I have heard of this happening to one or two other people as well. I am also very upset that Facebook will just simply disable all photos that have been uploaded.

      • Yes, removing the pre-exported images, already there, is quite lame!

  • Thank you for looking into this, Sean. I was one of those people whose photos uploaded with the plugin were disabled, but all the photos have returned now. I agree that it is very troubling that Facebook would simply disable all photos associated with a plugin. Once they are uploaded, it shouldn’t matter what method was used to upload them.

The only issue I’m having with the plugin now is that it doesn’t download my album list (it just shows up as blank).

    Thanks for your hard work.

    • Yeah, I have this problem too. It will require me to completely rip out the backend (because of last year’s Graph API changes). I’m actually surprised it’s worked this long.
