FacebookExporter for Aperture 1.0a1
A new version is finally here! This is completely rewritten from scratch and comes with a load of fixes. A few things to note:
- The name mapping feature is missing. I don’t really plan to bring it back until Aperture opens up its face recognition API
- There is a bug with Aperture 3 about the export size which can affect uploading to Facebook. More info. (I know the last comment mentions it’s fixed but I can still replicate this bug in 3.0.3)

Thanks for this. Is there any way to not attach the caption text from Aperture to the export? For example I have comments in there on Aperture relating to and ND filters etc I may have used and export it to Flickr but I don’t want to export it to facebook. It would be nice to be able to delete and edit that text. Thanks.

Ah, yes, this is a problem I didn’t think of. I will have to add this feature to the next one :-/

thanks for the new version. i just did a test and i quite miss the option from the old version and that is you are able to export pictures to facebook, accept and reject them first, then add tags, captions or arrange pics before posting it to your wall. i really like that feature!

It should work for Aperture 3. I will have to write an uninstaller when I have time :-/

Well, I’m afraid I can not get this plug-in to work. I have tired the steps that you suggest, but in my Aperture folder I can not find Plug-in folder, any other suggestions?

Great program, but how can I change the password after I’ve changed my facebook password?

Try logging out of the plugin … but it probably won’t work now because of Facebook’s switch to https

Do you plan to continue development on this plug-in? Even though Aperture 3 has a FaceBook exporter, I like this much better.
Its a plug-in I’d be willing to pay for.

Yes, I plan on continuing this. I will update sooner than I hoped for it seems.

Hello,
I started having this issue:
Invalid API key specified
The app you are trying to access does not exist or has been disabled.
I’m not sure how this happened, can you please guide me in fising this?

Nevermind – They magically reappeared so I quickly moved the photos to other albums (that were created the old school way) and then removed the app and so far they are still there. What a nightmare.

I had a problem with this version.
The export stalled for more then half an hour. It was 12% of the 7 of 60 photos I was uploading. I think the exporter needs some kind of timeout detection.
After that, I canceled the Aperture task and tried to resume my uploads. I had 2 problems in this step:
- Some photos have lost their tags. Just 2 of about 50 photos.
- I couldn’t upload to the existing set, the set list was never loaded.

re-installed aperture 2 (incl updates) on new macbook pro, re-installed Facebook exporter for aperture…
went to export some photos to facebook, provided my login details, and then just have a small white box saying ‘Success’.
Export doesn’t progress. Can’t cancel, or esc, or even quit the program. Have to Force Quit Aperture and can’t export to facebook.
Help!
