Invalid API key specified

This is a quick update to let everyone know what was happening with this particular error (I know. There are many bugs in the plugin. I hope to be able to use the ‘new’ Facebook Graph API and release the plugin as open source this summer.)

For reasons that were never explained to me, Facebook disabled this plugin. An unknown side-effect (to me, at least) was that this also disables all photos associated with the plugin. This is very troubling to me. All old photos should be reactivated now.

I will hopefully begin updating the plugin soon.

FacebookExporter for Aperture 1.0a1

A new version is finally here! This is completely rewritten from scratch and comes with a load of fixes. A few things to note:

  • The name mapping feature is missing. I don’t really plan to bring it back until Aperture opens up its face recognition API
  • There is a bug with Aperture 3 about the export size which can affect uploading to Facebook. More info. (I know the last comment mentions it’s fixed but I can still replicate this bug in 3.0.3)

Website Redesigned

If it isn’t abundantly clear, this is just a heads up that I’ve made a new website and switched to using WordPress instead of Blogger. This is all in anticipation of the newest version of the plugin which is about to be released :-)

Watermarks in v0.5.2

I went ahead and posted a new version for the people that wanted watermark support.

Fix in v0.5.1

This is a quick update to post the new fix for the loading of metadata. No longer will you have to do the crazy instructions as listed below. I honestly didn’t think that I would be able to fix it this fast =D Enjoy!

Finally, version 0.5

This has been a long time in the making. Apologies to the people that emailed me with plug-in errors. There are major changes to this version. The biggest change is the switch to the newest version of MKAbeFook. New features include:

  • Default album name is the taken from the name of the project

  • Saving tag data*

*This “works” but to get the data to load, you need to do something not intuitive:

  1. Select the photos you want to upload (I usually add ‘Facebook’ to the Action Advised tag in IPTC, then select all)

  2. Click on the first image
  3. Using the arrow keys, cycle through all the photos
  4. Now, open Facebook Export. Tag data should all be there.

If anyone knows why this is, please send me an email. Any comments, suggestions, and / or bug reports are welcomed

Oops! Version 0.4.1

This is a quick fix for the previous version. There were two errors when exporting. First, it tagged all the images before exporting making it appear it might be hung on the first image. Second, I wasn’t actually saving the tags X_X.

Ack! Version 0.4

Sorry for the long wait for this version. It has two new features and two bug fixes:

  • Added automatic login
  • Added retention of non-Facebook names in your tag list
  • Fixed tagging of people not in Facebook upload error
  • Fixed if you installed version 0.2 and didn’t delete the old installation

The next version should be in the two or three weeks depending on the release of MKabeFook’s new version. Happy uploading!

Version 0.3

This is a big update. Some things have been totally redone in the plugin:

  • Settings for mapping Facebook friends to Aperture keywords
  • Add the ‘Facebook’ keyword to uploaded photos
  • No longer is there a choice in what type of photo to export since Facebook only accepts a JPG with max dimensions of 604×604 pixels

Also new is the installation package, so that should be pretty straightforward now. Enjoy!

Version 0.2

Just a quick update to announce that version 0.2 is out for the Facebook Exporter for Aperture.

Changes

  • Fixed ‘return’ button being captured
  • Sort the list with friends already tagged to the top
